UPDATE: Lolebezi Safari Lodge | Zambezi River

July 2023 Update:

We secured more units at the Lolebezi Safari Lodge along the Zambezi River. New River Mattresses and Retaining Walls for the remainder of the units.

Project History:

In October 2022, we started supplying the civil designs and materials necessary for Gabion River walls with mattress aprons to the luxurious Lolebezi River Lodge in the lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia.

We were called in by the management team to offer a solution to a big river bank erosion problem, covering about 450m long and on average 1-2m high. The banks were vertical and needed to be excavated back to allow for a bench for building the new gabion walls on to prevent future erosion. Protecting of the lodge infrastructure was very important to the client and at the same time creating a good looking feature wall alongside the river.

We supplied all designs, materials and an experienced gabion installation training person with site tools to site for a period of about 3 weeks. The works were placed on hold from December 22 until mid March due to excessive rains and rock trucks being stuck on the access roads. We are now very happy with the quality of works done to date on site by the local experienced team. The same team having completed works for the Musango project in Zambia as well.
