We’re back with exciting news from our Salt Rock Residential project! Our KZN Branch Manager, Michael Thom, recently revisited the site to provide us with an update.
The project has seen some changes in scope, with additions and modifications along the way. These changes reflect the evolving vision of the homeowners, and we’re excited to accommodate their aspirations.
One of the notable developments on-site is the presence of many packed gabion walls, a testament to the progress we’ve made. Despite the challenges posed by the site’s unique terrain, our team remains undaunted and fully committed to delivering excellence.
At Gabion Baskets, we thrive on challenges, turning them into opportunities for innovation and growth. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this remarkable journey of transformation.
Keep an eye out for our upcoming update video with Michael Thom, where he’ll take you on a visual tour of our latest accomplishments at Salt Rock Residential.
Imagine a home that has stood for eight long years, weathering the seasons and embracing countless memories.
That’s the story of our Salt Rock Residential project. Nestled in the coastal village of Salt Rock, just north of Ballito along the scenic Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, this home has been a haven for its owners. But, as life goes, changes happen.
The heavy hand of nature, in the form of floods, decided to rewrite the story. Foundations crumbled, dreams teetered, and that’s where Gabion Baskets stepped in – to rebuild and to reimagine.
Salt Rock, with its stunning coastal beauty, is a cherished holiday destination for locals. Just a stone’s throw away from Durban, it’s a paradise waiting to be explored.
Our KZN Branch Manager, Michael Thom, takes us on a journey through the challenges encountered at the Salt Rock project. The site, with its steep slopes and dramatic drops, presented unique challenges. Transporting rocks in such terrain can be a test of patience, but our team thrives on challenges. Cramped working spaces? Well, we’ve seen it all.
One intriguing aspect of this project is the construction of a stepped wall beneath the deck. It’s tight, it’s tricky, but it’s also a testament to our dedication. We may not be dealing with a massive site, but the challenges are abundant, and that’s where we shine.
Oh, did we mention the views? Breathtaking is an understatement.
The Salt Rock project offers a front-row seat to the endless expanse of the ocean, a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.
And speaking of beauty, our client has a vision. They’re going for a rustic look, and that’s why they’ve chosen the 50x50x4mm welded mesh. It’s not just a construction material; it’s a piece of the aesthetic puzzle that will make this home truly unique.
At Gabion Baskets, we don’t just build structures; we build dreams. The Salt Rock Residential project is a testament to our commitment to turning challenges into opportunities and bringing visions to life, one stone at a time.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this extraordinary journey of transformation.
