SOSHANGUVE STEPPED REVETMENT PONDS

SOSHANGUVE STEPPED REVETMENT PONDS

Themba Kokela from Bokosi Ditshigema contacted us to assist with the installation of a skin revetment for three ponds at the new taxi rank in Soshanguve. Revetment walls are used to prevent shallow slope failures, as well as to prevent rocks from falling.

We quoted them for the supply of Reno mattresses and Rock. Since our client had no experience regarding the actual installation process, we enlisted the help of one of our specialized installers: Ronnie Dagnin, CEO of Petron Engineering.

We supplied 695 number 2 x 1 x 0.3, 18 number 3 x 1 x 0.3, 1274 m² of A4 geotextile and 866 ton of unselected dump rock for the 238m installation which ranged from 0.3 m to 1.5 m in height.

15 People started on the installation, performing at a rate of 1,5 m³/day in order to complete the project within a month.

Upon completion, our client visited the site and declared that he was very happy the the final result; he is planning to install more gabions on site after approval is given by the Tswane municipality!
